The world is lacking peace. Conflicts rage both near and far, in distant lands and within our own borders. Our communities are wracked by violence. Even within the familiar walls of home, family life can be marred by strife and discord. Relationships break down; friends are ‘un-friended’ by a swipe of a screen. Peace is at best elusive, possessed by others but always just beyond your grasp.
Are you searching for peace?
The Good News is this: A perfect peace is easily within your grasp. There is an absence of peace when anger is allowed to fester. Living with anger over hurts from the past negatively affects yourself and others. God gives his own spirit of peace to those who believe in him, putting out the fires of anger once and for all. A ‘peace that passes all understanding’ is yours when you put your trust in God.
What God says in the Bible about peace: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
